Nicola Faganello, hosted the monthly meeting of the EU Heads of Mission.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Aptos,sans-serif; font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The guest speaker was the Chief of Staff of the Irish Defence Forces, Lt Gen Rossa Mulcahy, who outlined the evolving strategic environment and the main challenges facing national, European and international security. He also provided an overview of the role and ongoing development of the Irish Defence Forces, including their cooperation with European, and international partners.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Aptos,sans-serif; font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Lt Gen Mulcahy&#8217;s presentation, followed by an interactive Q&amp;A session with the EU Ambassadors, focused also on the three pillars of Ireland&#8217;s Presidency of the Council of the European Union &#8211; values, security and competitiveness \u2013 with particular attention was devoted to strengthening Europe&#8217;s security and resilience, enhancing the European Union&#8217;s response to current geopolitical challenges, and reinforcing cooperation in the field of defence.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"On 8 July, at Europe House in Dublin, home to the Representation of the European Commission and the Liaison Office of the European Parliament in Ireland, the Ambassador of Italy to Ireland, H.E.
