The 10th Edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in Ireland began on Monday, 17 November at the Thomas Prior Hall of Dublin’s Clayton Hotel with an informative event dedicated to wild herbs and their role in Italian food and wine traditions, with particular focus on Radicchio di Treviso. The evening opened with remarks by the Ambassador of Italy to Ireland, Nicola Faganello, and the President of the Italian–Irish Chamber of Commerce, Furio Pietribiasi. Speakers included Omar Lapecia, President of Slow Food Alta Marca Trevigiana; wild-herb expert Nicole Dunne; Nicola Franchetto of Il Fiore della Salute and the Radicchio di Treviso Consortium; and Andrew Davidson, co-owner of Quickcrop. The initiative, organised by the Italian–Irish Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy, the Italian Institute of Culture, ENIT and the ITA – Italian Trade Agency, concluded with a tasting of themed dishes prepared by the restaurant Doppio Zero.
