DEADLINE: 24/01/2026
Pursuant to Article 4 of Law no. 459/2001, voters residing abroad and registered with AIRE may exercise the option to vote in Italy by submitting written notification to the diplomatic or consular representation operating in the consular district of residence, within the tenth day following the call to vote, that is, by 24 January 2026 (by convention, the calculation of days begins from the date of publication of the decree calling the referendum in the Official Gazette). Options received after this deadline cannot be considered (and therefore will not be included in the subsequent communication from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Ministry of the Interior). Recall, in fact, that the relevant date is the date of receipt of the option by the consular office, not the date of dispatch.
