Ireland represents an important trading partner for Italy. Our trade has recorded a substantially uninterrupted growth trend since 2019, reaching almost 11 billion euros in 2024. More than 100 Italian companies operate in Ireland and are looking at the Irish market with growing interest.
Relations between the two Countries are increasingly close. At a commercial level, Italy is the tenth supplier of goods and services to Ireland and the sixth destination market for Irish exporters in 2024. The market share of our exports to Ireland is 2.3%.
Economic relations are characterized by close cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment and tourism. Both Countries are members of the European Union, an institutional and value framework that fosters an environment that is particularly favorable to trade and economic integration, also in terms of complementarity between our economies.
