GIRO D’IRLANDA – BEYOND LIMITS, NOT JUST ULTRACYCLING

On June 12th 2025, the inaugural event of the “Giro d’Irlanda – Beyond limits. Not just Ultracycling” a bicycle tour by Italian Paralympic champion Andrea Pusateri, who will carry out a 2,600km cycling tour of Ireland, from June 15th to July 1st, in 16 stages across the island, starting from Dublin.
The launch event, promoted by the Embassy of Italy in Dublin in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture, the Italian-Irish Chamber of Commerce and ITA Agency, was attended by Ambassador Nicola Faganello, who welcomed the athlete Andrea Pusateri and the Beyond Limits technical team in the presence of the heads of the Irish Olympic and Paralympic Federations, Paralympics Ireland and Olympic Federation of Ireland.
“Giro d’Irlanda – Beyond Limits supports sports diplomacy as a vehicle for growth,” said Ambassador Faganello, “contributing together with Ireland to promote a culture of sport and inclusion also in view of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.”
After the video message of greeting by Minister for Disabilities Alessandra Locatelli and the subsequent speeches by Paralympics Ireland President Lisa Clancy and Olympic Federation of Ireland Board member John Feehan, who dwelt on the universal values of sport, Italian champion Andrea Pusateri told the audience about his own witnessing as a Paralympic athlete, illustrating the contents and challenges of the Beyond Limits project, which will see him engaged in the coming weeks in an intense route through the main Irish cities and the amazing naturalistic landscapes of the island.
At the end of the event, possible also thanks to Rovagnati and Acqua San Bernardo, official sponsors of Beyond Limits, the audience present visited at the Italian Cultural Institute the exhibition “Oltre i limiti. Sport Italia, ritratto corale di un Paese che cambia” promoted with the Museo del Novecento.
