New investment in Ireland by the Italian group Dedalus, a global healthcare software provider company

It has been a pleasure to attend yesterday at Government Buildings, the official announcement by Dedalus Group that it will create an additional 100 jobs in Ireland as part of its €10 million expansion in Ireland.

In the presence of the Taoiseach, Micheál Martin TD and Michael Lohan, the CEO of IDA (who supported the investment), I was pleased to join Dedalus executives Richard Craven, Managing Director for UK & Ireland, Cathy McCartan, Executive Director of Dedalus Ireland, and Brendan Casey, Head of Swiftqueue Services, Dedalus.

As Ambassador of Italy in Dublin and representative of the Italian Government in Ireland, I am very glad and proud that Dedalus Group—a global healthcare software provider company based and founded in Florence with operations in over 40 countries—has decided to expand its operations in this country, bringing its Irish team to 150 over the next four years. This is a significant step to strengthen the presence of Italian businesses in Ireland and a strong endorsement of both Ireland’s talent base and reputation as a hub for innovation in health technology.

We welcome and support this initiative which combines two sectors, Information Technology and Healthcare, which are at the centre of the actions that the Italian Embassy — together with other components of the “Sistema Italia” in Ireland — has started last May, with the visit of Italian Deputy Minister for “Made in Italy” Valentino Valentini, in order to enhance our bilateral relations in trade and investment, in fields of mutual interest. We look forward, with the support of Dedalus and others, to building on this further in the period ahead.
