ITALIAN DESIGN DAY IN IRLANDA 2026.

From 24 to 27 March, the 10th edition of Italian Design Day took place in Ireland, this year focused on the theme “RE-DESIGN. Regenerating spaces, objects, ideas and relationships,” with the participation of the IDD 2026 testimonial in Ireland, architect Ico Migliore, Professor at the School of Design of the Politecnico di Milano.

The initiative, organized by the Embassy of Italy in Dublin, the Italian Cultural Institute, the ICE Office in London, and the Italian-Irish Chamber of Commerce, opened with the university conference “In conversation with Ico Migliore” at the Limerick School of Art and Design of the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS). During this first significant IDD event held outside the capital, architect Migliore delivered a lecture on the theme of interior design for cultural spaces to an audience of over 100 local students.

On 25 March, a promotional networking event with the Irish business community took place at Gloria Osteria, a new Italian restaurant in the heart of Dublin, featuring highly original and refined Italian furnishings and design. The evening opened with welcome remarks from the Ambassador of Italy to Ireland, Nicola Faganello, and the President of the Italian-Irish Chamber of Commerce, Furio Pietribiasi, in the presence of numerous representatives from the local business sector, economic operators, importers, and journalists.

The week dedicated to Italian design in Ireland concluded on Friday, 27 March, with a panel discussion featuring architect Migliore and Hugh Campbell, Professor of Architecture at UCD, on the theme of regeneration and the synergies between innovation and the preservation of urban identity, held at the Irish Architectural Archive, a historic Irish architectural institution and partner of the initiative.
