Dublin, 2 April 2026 – Organised by the Italian Institute of Culture, in collaboration with N.I.C.E., and with the support of the Embassy of Italy in Ireland, the 5th edition of the Italian Film Festival Ireland will take place from April 23rd to May 1st. The Festival will bring a compelling selection of contemporary Italian cinema to audiences across Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick.
The Festival presents a curated programme of films that have been successfully showcased at major international festivals, including the Venice Biennale, Cannes Film Festival and Rome Film Festival. This year’s edition highlights the richness and diversity of Italian filmmaking today, offering Irish audiences the opportunity to engage with some of its most distinctive voices.
Continuing to expand its presence across Ireland, the Festival will host a total of 20 screenings in different venues including the Light House Cinema in Dublin, The Arc Cinema in Cork, EYE Cinema in Galway, and TUS Millennium Theatre in Limerick.
This year’s programme features a selection of films that explore a wide range of themes, from historical narratives to contemporary social issues, as well as intimate personal stories and artistic portraits.
Among the highlights, Chiara will open the Dublin programme with a special Q&A with actress Carlotta Natoli, offering our audience a unique opportunity to engage directly with the film. Other titles include Un anno di scuola, Il rapimento di Arabella, Il Maestro, Duse and Orfeo.
In Cork and Galway, audiences will be able to attend screenings of La valle dei sorrisi, accompanied by a Q&A with director Paolo Strippoli, alongside films such as Elvira Notari, Anna, Fuori, Primavera and Città di Pianura.
