Last Saturday, Ambassador Faganello we celebrated also in Cork, for the first time, the Italian National Day, together with the local Italian community and with the participation of the Lord Mayor, Councillor Dan Boyle (thank you!), the Chair and the Vice Chair of COMITES Ireland (the Committee representing the Italian residents), Emiliana Capurro e Luca Mancinelli, and the Executive Director of the Irish National Opera, Diego Fasciati, who introduced the opera “L’Elisir d’Amore” of Donizetti which was staged later on at the Cork Opera House, with a full house and a huge success.
Many thanks to University College Cork for kindly hosting the 2025 Republic Day celebration in the beautiful setting of the Dora Allmann room and for displaying the Italian flag together with those of the European Union and Ireland.
Heartfelt thanks also to the Italian Honorary Consul, Gabriella Caponi, for her great work in organising this successful event, with the support of the io Italian local restaurateurs and with the help of some volunteers, GRAZIE MILLE!!
