Latest updates as of 27th February 2020
As of 27th February 2020 (12.00 noon) there are 528 confirmed cases of infection in Italy, with 14 deaths and 37 patients have recovered. There has therefore been a 97% increase in patients recovering since yesterday, compared to a 29% increase in cases of infections, which in any case constitutes a small minority (4.8%) of those who were tested, amounting to over 11.000. The areas where restrictions have been put in place remain unchanged: one in the region of Lombardy and one in the region of Veneto, constituting only 0.05% of the national territory. On the basis of the checks which are being constantly carried out by the relevant health authorities, no specific measures have been taken to limit circulation in other areas. The Chinese tourists who were the first to be admitted to hospital in Rome and who resulted positive to Coronavirus, have all recovered, after a period of treatment in the National Institute for Infectious Diseases “Lazzaro Spallanzani”.
At worldwide level, there have been 82.446 confirmed cases of infection, with 2.808 certified deaths and 33.179 patients have recovered.
