The Unit for the Coordination of the Italian Cultural Institutes of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) provides contributions for:
1. the financing of travel and accommodation expenses of Italian or foreign researchers, teachers, experts, cultural figures and cultural operators resident in Italy for at least two years invited abroad by foreign university or cultural institutions;
2. contributions to the travel and accommodation expenses of foreign or Italian researchers, teachers, experts, cultural figures and cultural operators resident abroad invited by Italian university and cultural institutions in order to promote their collaborations and joint research programs.
The financial contribution is to partially cover travel and accommodation expenses and is provided in a lump sum of up to a maximum of 1,500 and 3,000 euros depending on the destination and for a maximum period of 10 days of activity. The contribution will not be provided beyond the tenth day of stay. For the purposes of the calculation, only the days of actual performance of cultural and/or research activities are to be included.
The contribution consists of a comprehensive daily flat rate, of which 250 euros per day for stays of up to 5 days and 50 euros per day from the sixth to the tenth day of stay abroad or in Italy, for a maximum value of 1,500 euros per mission.
Within the fixed flat rate ceiling, missions abroad carried out by Italian candidates may include activities to be carried out in multiple countries. It should be noted that the invitation abroad cannot be tied to the disbursement of the contribution by the MAECI. It should also be noted that reimbursements are not permitted for travel that does not take place in economy class. The Unit for the Coordination of Italian Cultural Institutes may decide to disburse contributions to foreign beneficiaries for a lower number of days than those requested in the application.
The contribution is admissible for all activities that run from 1 January to 15 November 2025. It should be noted that it will not be possible to provide for the disbursement of contributions for missions that will take place after that date.
PROCEDURES FOR THE REQUEST
Interested parties may submit an application as specified in the form attached (In Italian) to the email iicdublino@esteri.it by 31 July 2025 with a copy to the address dgdp.unic.cap2619@esteri.it
It is emphasized that only requests for contributions will be accepted from those who have received an official invitation from a university or cultural institution, giving preference to invitations within the framework of bilateral Cultural Cooperation Executive Agreements and Programs. For Italian applicants or those residing in Italy, the invitation must come from a foreign university or cultural institution. On the contrary, for foreign applicants or Italians residing abroad, the invitation must be issued by an Italian institution.
