The eighth edition of Italian Design Day in the World (IDD) has come to Ireland this week from 11th Saturday to 16th March 2024. This year’s theme is “Manufacturing value – inclusiveness, innovation and sustainability”. The week focuses on celebrating Italian design excellence and promoting Italian design in Ireland, as well as emphasizing the manufacturing process that leads to the creation of beautifully designed, high quality, and valuable Italian design pieces.
The week has been opened yesterday 11th March by a B2B event with a keynote speech from Mr. Vercelloni on “The poetic response of the Italian Design to sustainability”, followed by a panel discussion with designers and architects who talked about their work and experience of Italian design, the manufacturing process, and the vision of this year’s theme. Later that evening, the Italian Ambassador to Ireland, Ruggero Corrias, has hosted a special dinner in his Residence Palladian Villa Lucan House, to welcome the private sector and media to promote Italian design in Ireland.
The rest of the week will see local importers of Italian design host a series of consumer events providing opportunities for design lovers to immerse themselves in Italian design excellence. Attendees can explore curated exhibitions and engage with leading brands at various locations across Ireland.
